Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated October 5, 2026
Chamberlin Studio (formerly Chamberlin Design), a Chamberlin Enterprises company ("we," "us," or "our"), is a web studio in Harbor Springs, Michigan. This policy covers chamberlin.studio, My Project (the private project page each client gets at myproject.chamberlin.studio), our booking page at book.chamberlin.studio, and our Instagram automation. It explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- We collect what you choose to send us, like your name, email, and phone number, so we can answer you and do the work.
- We never sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
- This site uses no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no cookie popup.
- You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information at any time.
Information you give us
Contact form. When you use the contact form, we collect your first and last name, email address, phone number, company (if you give it), your message, and your agreement to be contacted. It is delivered to us by email so we can respond. We use it only to reply to your inquiry and carry on the conversation you started.
Reviews and testimonials. When you leave a review, we collect your name, company, role, email, your star rating if you give one, and what you wrote. Reviews are shown on our website and in our marketing with your name, company, and role. Your email is never shown. You can ask us to remove your review at any time. While you write, your unsent draft is saved only in your own browser, on your device, so it is still there if you close the page. It is cleared when you send it.
Booking a meeting. When you book a meeting through our scheduling page, we collect your name, email address, and the time you picked so we can confirm and hold the meeting.
My Project
If you become a client, you get My Project, your private project page at myproject.chamberlin.studio. It holds your proposal, agreement, invoices, project timeline, and any files we share with you. Each My Project page lives at a private link that is not indexed by search engines. Anyone who has the link can open it, so share it only with people on your team.
Through My Project we collect what you choose to give us: your name, email address, and electronic signature when you sign an agreement, along with the date, IP address, and browser type that form the signature record; your answers to the project questionnaire; task checkmarks; and any files you upload to My Project or to your shared project folder. We also record when My Project is opened so we know you have seen an update.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card or bank account numbers. We receive only a confirmation of the payment, the amount, and the email address used.
Free resources
When you request a free resource, such as a prompt pack, we collect your first name and email address, the page you signed up on, any campaign tags in the link you followed (for example, that you came from Instagram), and your IP address and browser type. We email you a private link to the resource and record when you open it. We may also send you an occasional design email. Every email tells you how to unsubscribe, and replying "unsubscribe" works too.
Instagram comments and messages
We use our own automation, built on Meta's official Instagram API, to answer people who comment a keyword on our Instagram posts. When you comment on one of our posts, we receive your Instagram username, your Instagram user ID, and the text of your comment. If the comment matches a keyword, we send you one direct message with the link you asked for and may reply to your comment. We keep a log of these comments and messages for up to 90 days so nobody gets messaged twice, then delete it. We never use it for advertising and never sell or share it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps, for security and to keep the site running reliably. Our contact and feedback forms use a hidden spam check and a short timer to stop bots. The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser type to deliver them. The site does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To answer your inquiry, schedule meetings, and send proposals.
- To deliver your project, keep accurate contract and billing records, and stay in touch about the work.
- To send the free resources you ask for, and occasional design emails you can stop any time.
- To show reviews on our website and in our marketing.
- To keep the site, My Project, and our forms secure and free of spam.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no cookie popup. Our host may set a short-lived security cookie to protect the site from bots, and My Project uses a sign-in check only where a page asks for one. If you start a review, the review form keeps your unsent draft in your browser’s local storage; it never leaves your device until you send it. You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time.
Service providers and sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We rely on a small number of services to run the site and My Project, and they process data only as needed to provide their service to us: Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), Supabase (database and private file storage for My Project), Stripe (payments), Google Drive (shared project folders), Google Fonts (fonts), Google Calendar (meetings you book), and Meta (the Instagram API).
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect the rights, property, or safety of our clients or others, or if Chamberlin Studio is ever sold or merged, in which case the new owner would have to honor this policy.
Calls and text messages
When you send the contact form, you agree that we may call, text, or email you about your inquiry. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Agreeing is not a condition of any purchase. We do not send marketing texts.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your permission to receive texts and your mobile number are not shared with any third parties.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages live in our email inbox and are kept for as long as the conversation is useful.
- Client records, including signed agreements and invoices, are kept as long as tax, accounting, and legal record keeping requires.
- Free resource sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Instagram comment logs are deleted after 90 days.
- Server logs are kept by our host for a short time, then deleted.
You can ask us to delete any of it at any time, unless we need to keep it for a project or the law.
How we protect it
The site and My Project use encryption (HTTPS) for everything you send, files you upload are stored privately, and access is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No website or email system can be completely secure, so please do not send passwords, full card numbers, or other sensitive details through the forms. If a security breach ever affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your privacy choices and rights
- Ask to see the personal information we have about you, or get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your information, unless we need to keep it for a project or the law.
- Unsubscribe from emails with the link in any email, and stop texts by replying STOP.
Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you more rights, such as opting out of the sale or sharing of your information, targeted advertising, or profiling. We do not sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising or profiling, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we honor requests to see, correct, or delete information from everyone, wherever they live.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honor it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing. There is no common standard for the older Do Not Track setting, so the site does not respond to it separately, but we do not track you across other websites either way.
To make a request, email david@chamberlinenterprises.com or call (231) 838-1408. We may ask you to confirm a few details so we know the request is really from you, and someone you authorize may ask for you. We respond within 45 days, and we will never treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Other websites
This site links to client websites we have built and to other companies such as Instagram and Stripe. Each has its own privacy practices; this policy covers chamberlin.studio, myproject.chamberlin.studio, our booking page at book.chamberlin.studio, and our Instagram automation only. We are based in the United States, and information you send us is stored and handled in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy at least once a year and when our practices change. We will post any update here with a new date at the top.
